I’m Ed Pitt (find me on LinkedIn), I started building mobile apps in 2012 after years in the world of web and digital marketing agencies, when the app ecosystem was much less mature. I built native iOS apps before moving onto early cross-platform frameworks. Eventually I moved into management of software teams that built cross-platform apps.
The software world is changing fast. I launched Silicon Gorge Apps in my home town of Bristol and declared myself a micro-agency to make use of the latest technology (find out here why I use Flutter) and AI tools to bring beautiful quality apps to life without a huge price tag.

What makes you different to other app agencies?
I’m able to deliver apps that look great and work great on iPhone and Android, at less cost than others. I do this by using the best cross-platform framework, using AI assistance during the build phase, and keeping very low overheads.
Can a micro-agency really do everything I need?
Sometimes on rare occasions where other skills are required for your project I’ll hire them in and it will be covered by your fixed build price, much like many larger digital agencies and similar to your builder bringing in an electrician for your kitchen extension. Alternatively, I’m happy to work with people you know already.
Some projects might be too big, and some might be too complex, and if that’s the case you’ll get some good honest and free advice about what kind of agency/team you should be looking for.
Why do you use Flutter?
Flutter is the hands-down best framework to use if you want to build a single app for both mobile platforms that has a quality feel to its UX/UI. You can read more here.
How much does an app cost?
It really does depend on its complexity and novelty. Doing something new takes more time, doing something complex takes more time, and doing something new and complex…you get the picture. What we’re confident of is being significantly cheaper than other more established agencies, with superior outcomes.
Will you sign an NDA before I share my app idea with you?
Yes. I understand this caution completely and I’m happy to agree to not talk about your idea with anyone I’m not permitted to, and I’m even happier to not steal your idea. Trust me when I say that building an app is the easy bit – finding users is far harder!
